The Family Cart — public Google Play edition

Effective: November 4, 2026. Publisher: Philip Gray, Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, United States.

This policy describes the public Android application with package ID com.philipgray.familycart. It does not describe the separate, invitation-only family-service application.

What the app stores

The Family Cart stores the shopping items you enter or explicitly choose to import. This may include item names, quantities, optional store labels and whether each item has been purchased. Your list is saved in the app's private storage on your device. The app does not require a username, password or account.

What the app does not collect

The public Play edition does not request Internet, location, contact-list, SMS, RCS, WhatsApp, notification-reading or phone permissions. It does not use advertising identifiers, analytics SDKs or tracking cookies, and does not automatically monitor conversations. It does not transmit shopping-list data to developer-owned servers.

Sharing and importing

If you choose “Share list,” Android presents its sharing interface for you to select another app and review the destination and content before sending. Sharing is initiated by you. Information you choose to send is then handled by the selected recipient app or service according to its own privacy terms.

If you choose to send text into The Family Cart using Android's Share menu, the app shows an import confirmation. Items are saved locally only after you accept. Nothing is imported from messages in the background.

Retention and deletion

Shopping data stays on your device until you remove it, clear app data, or uninstall the app. You can remove individual list items and clear purchased items within the app. There is no server-side user account to delete. Android automatic backup and device-transfer backup are disabled for the app's local list.

Security

The app uses Android application-private storage and limits imported text length. No third-party mobile SDK is included in this version. This is a local device checklist, not a cloud storage or encrypted messaging service. Anyone with access to your unlocked device may be able to see the list.

Website access

When you visit this separate informational website, its hosting infrastructure (Cloudflare Pages) may process ordinary website request information, such as IP address, browser details and visit timestamps, to deliver the pages and protect the service. The mobile app does not contact this website automatically; it only opens the policy or support page when you choose to do so.

Children

The Family Cart is a general-purpose household shopping utility and is not specifically designed for children. It is not marketed as an app for children.

Changes to this policy

This document will be updated if the app gains optional online synchronization, analytics, accounts or new data-handling features. The effective date above will be changed with any revision.
